Disneyland & CA Adventure Park

Wednesday, June 11th, 2 days before school gets out for summer we had a minimum day. I took Jared, Audra, Tarisa and Felicia to Disney. Liana stayed home to study for her finals, and Dad was working. We only had 6 hours, not alot of time to do 2 parks, but we had fun. Jared chose the submarines and Audra wanted to drive Autopia cars. We went "Soarin' Over California" in the virtual hang gliders and saw sis-in-law Aimee in the Pixar parade (she was a jellyfish). The favorite, i think, was Pirates of the Caribbean with surprise "appearances" by Johnny Depp.

CSULA Graduate

On June 6th, Felicia graduated from Cal Sate Univ Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, with an option in teaching. She worked very hard for 5 years and we are so proud of her. She is planning on teaching P.E. , but times being what they are she can also teach classes or be a personal trainer at a gym.

ENGAGED!

Brandon proposed to Felicia on her birthday. She was so excited she left him outside and ran in to tell everyone! A precious moment shared with family and friends.

Boo's First Haircut

Boo is 9 months old. We just took him to the groomer for his first haircut. He looks so handsome! What do you think? See the before and after pictures.

Jared

May 2008. Five years have passed since Jared was diagnosed with Diabetes. He is now 11 years old and his health is good. He goes to the diabetes specialist at Loma Linda, three times a year for check-ups and insulin adjustments. He is still getting a minimum of 4 injections per day. He will need insulin for the rest of his life unless a fabulously intelligent scientist discovers a cure. Jared has a great attitude about his dietary limitations and he now can give himself his own shots. He has gotten taller this year and will be starting middle school (6th grade) in August. We are so proud of him!

Martial Arts Fitness Update

I am still going to the class. When I started, I couldn't even do one sit-up. Yesterday I did 30! Today my abs ache...and my calves....and my shoulders.....etc. Basically I m aching everywhere. The good news is I feel that I am improving and getting stronger, and should I say - fitter? Right now I go twice a week, but in June I will be doing class 3 days a week. I am sticking with it!

Cousins at the Beach

Spring Break

Tuesday after Easter, before Aunt Cindy and the cousins drove home, we met them at the beach with Grandpa. The kids had fun in the water even though it wasn't very warm. The moms and grandpa tried to stay out of the sun (they don't appear to be native Californians).

Karate Man

Jared has been taking Karate classes for almost 3 years. He is getting close to testing for his green belt. I love this photo they did for us at the Karate studio.
